Building Faith 7, A Simple Security Plan

November 2, 2015

Several years ago we came home late to find our door open, possessions scattered, some things missing, and a window broken. None of our neighbors had seen a thing. We cleaned up and later called a home security company to install alarms. We have been paying for the system ever since, but it has deterred the thieves. The system can be a nuisance, for we must remember to turn it on when we leave and off when we return, or the sheriff’s office will be alerted.

Security – How can we be safe? Psalm 7 tells us to come to the Lord for protection and safety from our persecutors. The wicked conceive evil, but the Lord looks deep into their minds and hearts. He is just and will punish the wicked. The sheriff, a trained observer, never caught the thieves, but God will punish those who stole my mother’s wedding ring. The presence of the Lord in my life is the best security.

(Hebrews 13: 8) The Lord is my helper. He holds my hand.

(Psalm 27: 4) May I dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.

(Proverbs 3:6) Know him and he will direct your path.
