Listening to Jesus, Day 27 – Seen or Unseen

September 29, 2015

When the unseen presence of Jesus filters my reality, the reality of the world I see and its problems are filtered. I need the clarity of Jesus to soften my perception of what is too often an unkind world. Jesus saw the world clearly, to the end and beyond, and his love did not lessen but became stronger. So when I put on reading glasses to read the newspapers, I need to pretend they extend to an invisible Jesus. What would Jesus see?

(Matthew 10: 29-31) Jesus tells us his Father sees the sparrow falling and can count the number of hairs on my head. (The Father has perfect vision, but loves me anyway.}

( Hebrews 11: 27) He sees that which is invisible.

(2 Corinthians 4: 18) The things we see are temporary, but the things not seen are eternal.
