Listening to Jesus, Day 22 – Walking With the Prince of Peace

September 15, 2015

There is no better companion for a walk than Jesus, the Prince of Peace. He directs me toward heaven, as I am surveying the fruits of this earth. There are many signs on the highway to heaven, familiar road signs. A red octagonal sign says,” Stop. Wait to see what God has in store for you.” An inverted triangle tells me, “Yield the right of way. Jesus saves.” Other signs say, “Wrong way” and “Do not enter.” We pay attention to the signs, and sometimes the long way round is the best way to get there. There are no shortcuts on the path of peace, but the Prince of Peace walks with me. Blessed be his way.

(Isaiah 9: 6) His name shall be Wonderful, Counselor, and the Prince of Peace.

(Psalm 25: 4) Lord show me thy ways. Teach me thy paths.

(John 20: 19-21) Jesus said, “Peace be unto you,” and he showed them his hands.
