Listening to Jesus, Day 16- A Fallen World

September 2, 2015

Some would say the world is not as pleasant today as it was yesterday. Some think there is a war on women, a war on drugs, a war on poverty, a war on immigrants  even a war on the police.  Has evil overcome the world? There are many sinners out there, and they seem to get all the attention. Those who disregard law and order get in the news, and it’s not fair. Many fine things happen every day, but they are ignored. How low can this world go? Jesus never said, “Black lives matter.” He assumed all lives matter. He never said don’t kill your babies, but he said, “Let the children come to me.” It is not the world that has fallen, but the refusal of some to appreciate their God-given heritage. The light of God’s presence still shines, but undoubtedly more Christian behavior is needed to keep the world and God’s word alive and well, even in America.

(Psalm 118:24) This day is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.

(Psalm 112: 17) (Every day) I will offer the sacrifice of Thanksgiving and will call on the name of the Lord.
