Listening to Jesus, Day 1 – A Good Day
The British say it correctly, “G’day”, or God day. Every day is a good day when we spend time considering and listening to Jesus. Jesus is alive and well in my life, today, and yesterday, and (God willing) tomorrow. Three parts of God gather to talk to me, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father and Son speak through the Bible and prayer. The Holy Spirit is a gift, given to believers to help us follow God’s will. The Holy Spirit is personal, telling me what to do today and what I have done wrong in the past. I guess Jesus gave me the Holy Spirit when I first met him, many years ago.
Jesus promises eternal life for believing and following him, which sounds far too simple an explanation for that promise. It is an incredible promise and a bargain, you say, and I agree; but we’ll take it. Share my continuing thoughts as I consider life and the promises of Jesus. Meanwhile, have a G’day – a God centered day.
(Psalm 89:15-16) The people who know the Lord walk in his sight.
(Deuteronomy 31: 6) Be strong. The Lord is with you and will not fail you.
(2 Corinthians 10: 5) Let your thoughts center on God. Cast out distractions.
